my experience

When I transferred to FIU in 2018, I did not know much about the Global Learning Medallion Program. Nor did I know about the department in general. One day, I decided to research ways I could get involved on campus and came to the Global Learning Department website. I found myself relating to the vision of the department and loving the mindset of global awareness. I began to get more involved with on-campus activities and events. My real breakthrough with the Global Learning Medallion was getting accepted as a Global Learning Student Research Fellow. Thank you Yenisleidy Simon Mengana for your constant support and guidance. Thank you Dr. Landorf for your work ethic and support. Thank you Sherrie Rhodes Beeson for reviewing my conference proposal and guiding my way through the application. Finally, thank you to Dr. Carter for inspiring my passion for race and ethnicity issues as well as pushing me to reach new heights in my research.
